My favourite hidden gems, AKA authors, books, music, and awesome people within the entertainment industry in some way or another.
A Duke Gibbs Thriller, the first in it's series. Head back in time and read the story of a war vet with no tolerance for injustice. Duke Gibbs is officially my favourite character. He's tough, he's fair, and he's bad-A$$ (excuse the language!) If you have seen and enjoyed the movie Rebel Ridge, pictured below, you will love Duke, and if you've seen Alice, grab the sequel instantly. Six Bullets to a Man and The Tennessee Killers are both available on Amazon.

Jethro Wegener (AKA my author bestie)
The first in it's series, The Crimson League sets up the absolute best fantasy series I have ever read. The world building by Victoria Grefer is absolutely amazing, and the story is so well written, I think she should be a best seller alongside Tolkien, Lewis, and Rowling. I personally think her series is better than any of theirs. If you love High Fantasy, click on the photo! I promise you won't regret it!
Victoria Grefer (AKA the next hit fantasy writer 🤞)
Did you ever read the Spooky Stories to tell in the Dark books? Goosebumps? Fear Street? Did you stay up listening to the radio stories or watching scary movies? This is for you. New and exciting short stories with shocking twists and chilling details. I read it in two sittings. Part of a series that I have yet to complete.
Sharon Marie Provost, the short story queen! If you want quick but complete, she's the top choice!
Check out these musicians! (Click names to be taken to their Facebook pages.)
Ghetto-T rapper/hip hop artist, absolutely amazing human being, always ready to support others and give inspiration and genuine connection with his followers. Tons of songs with people you have definitely heard of if you listen to the genre. Available anywhere you can stream music.
My favourite song of his is Like You Are, which features my next shoutout.
Rob Ronner award winning multi-insturumental singer songwriter with a country twang. I beleive he could easily insert himself into any song genre and have it work out, but I do still really love Like you Are, the above listed song.
Jā- wrk another hip hop/rap artist who is extremely supportive and engaging with his fans and followers. My favourite song by him is Round Here.
Also, a more personal shoutout, my dad, John Hartling. He is currently managing lung cancer, so he doesn't update as often as he used to, but most of his songs can be found on ReverbNation. I can also start adding to his page, he's just very busy and sore lately.
My Top Three Songs by my daddy.
Why'd they make me an outlaw? This song makes me cry, but it also makes me smile. It's mostly accurate, except he's super important to me unlike the one line says, and he knows, but the line is about how he felt when he wrote it. It mentions me and my sisters and kids so it has sentimental importance.
Crashed and Burned No need to fight back, karma always wins. And "that dirty burger's gonna learn!"
Don't laugh Have you ever laugh at someone in a tough situation? Me too. This song reminds us why we shouldn't.
And one that I think every Canadian can enjoy, though you are warned, it's an epic, almost 6 minutes long!

Uncategorized people to add to your community if you are starting out or want information about certain topics.
Laura Corbin , my best friend from the internet. She has worked with and is still very actively interacting with some very big names, and she is the most humble and amazing woman I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. Acting, writing, singing, a winning personality, what's not to love? Follow her for some wild stories and fun times, as well as some hard truths that others are afraid to say. Also stay tuned for our upcoming podcast with our other internet bestie, Mariela! Another writer and just absolutely wonderful person. These women have kept me going more than I care to admit and they are always the first ones with kind words when they see someone in pain.
And to the first person that reminded me that even popular people are humans, outside of family and work situations, the one and only James Merendino, writer and director of the 1998 cult classic SLC Punk and it's 2016 sequel SLC Punk 2: Punk's Dead. His current tv series, Great Kills, keeps him busy, but he's never too busy to interact with his fans. He has even been known to sneak a post or two up while on set to remind us that he cares about his fans. I've gone to him for advice and have spent my time in the writing community learning from him and showing him the same support he wants to be able to show everyone he meets. An absolutely wonderful man who has no problem sharing his secrets if you're brave enough to reach out and ask. Just don't ask about Matthew Lillard, he hears that too much. I can answer for him. "He's a great guy to work with." I hope he's okay with me using this photo as I believe it is his own, but I love how it shows him in action.

And a shoutout wouldn't be complete without mentioning the master behind my covers, merchandise, advertising, formatting, and so much more that I can't even keep track, my mom, Candi Winter. Without her, I'd probably still be working on Altiore, my first self-published series. She also laid the ground work for a deal with her boss for a sandwich board for me, so he deserves a shoutout as well, Pure Image Signs and Graphics, for all your advertising and signage needs in the lower mainland! Contact my mom and if she can't do it, Todd can!

She is a highly trained and experienced graphic designer (20+ years, head designer in every job), who has done all my covers and at least 3 for others that I know of. Links are based on type of work.
